I came home last Friday and my wife told me she had a surprise for me. She created a new blog space for me to express my ideas in a concise, organized and intelligible fashion. Since I don't usually do any of these things I thought I'd give it a try.
Today I stepped out onto my front step to grab my newspaper and my foot was met with the cold, soft slush of freshly fallen wintry mix. As I stepped back into my climate controlled refuge I thought, who would think this winter stuff was a good idea?
Yes, I know, I live in Iowa so I should expect this; even moreso this winter since we haven't had much snow at all this year. I apparently am not the only person to experience the inconvenience of this cold slush. Several of my coworkers arrived late due to a traffic snare on the interstate in terrible moods.
It's funny how much something as minimal as one inch can cause so much trouble. Pant cuffs and socks were soaked, tempers were high and cars were dented. Who again thought snow was a good idea?
They say genius is found in the creative mind. Genius is an African who dreams of snow. I think genius would have been to leave my paper on the front step and have gone back to bed.
